Feel the smile it generated within you. That is the power of your one smile. Want to feel like a million bucks? Smile at least 40 times a day.
The Basic Practice - inner smile priming
whether in the mood or not, smile :)
wisdom of a young child
Way back in time as a seven year old child, I was having a crappy day. It just so happened I was in the good fortune to be in the company of my cousin who is over a year older than me. To cheer me up she shared her child like wisdom, “Barbie, when I am sad I just smile to make myself feel better.” Well wouldn’t you know, I tried it and both of us were smiling and laughing in no time.
inner smile priming
the saying “fake it until you make it” has truth
faking a smile helps to begin to prime the facial muscles which in turn stimulates the brain and sends out good feelings to the body (endorphins)
bring your smile to life by:
watching a kitten, puppy or young child at play
bringing to mind a special memory
looking a pictures of people smiling
Explore the Movement - add to your smile:
really allow the cheeks to lift
feel your eyes sparkle
including the eye wrinkles
place the tip of the tongue on the roof of the mouth for a closed mouth inner smile
feel how this helps the ends of the lips turn upward
